To manage the power required to pursue giant bluewater fish, the Rob Allen Vecta Mechanism is manufactured from PA6 30% GS glass-filled Polyamide. External shrouds and an internal barrel spigot reinforce the essential barrel/mechanism interaction. Aside from safety concerns, any wiggle in this area affects accuracy. Internal webs are used throughout the mechanism to distribute load away from high-stress locations. All load-bearing pivot pins and the sear are made of solid stainless steel. The cheekplates hold the rubber overgrip in place to avoid twisting during firing. For convenience when loading, the spring-loaded line release cam returns to its original position after firing.
