Fourth Element J2 Base Layer Long Sleeve Top - Ladies - XXXL. The Fourth Element J2 Baselayer Ladies Long Sleeve Top is designed to keep the skin dry which can be critical to a comfortable dive, whether it is staying warm, preventing infections or just bad smells. A simple, close-fitting design with flat seams for next to skin comfort offers the perfect solution under any drysuit underwear.

The Fourth Element J2 Baselayer range was developed for the US Deep Caving Team’s 2013 expedition to explore Cheve Cave System in Mexico. With excellent anti-microbial performance thanks to the use of silver ion technology, and outstanding wicking from a unique fabric, it is designed for extended use under a drysuit.

Free Dry-Sac:
Every Fourth Element J2 Women's Top that is ordered with a pair of J2 Women's Leggings comes packaged with an Expedition Series Lightweight Dry-Sac, ideal for keeping the undersuit and other items dry amongst wet dive gear. Plastic packaging is minimised in an attempt to lower environmental impact. The Dry-Sac supplied is sized according to the size of the J2 suit ordered.

J2 Baselayer — Performance in Extremes

Keeping the skin dry can be critical to success, whether it is staying warm, or preventing infections. The J2 baselayer was designed to wick perspiration away from the skin and maintain a dry zone next to the skin. Air is a better insulator than water and consequently, the baselayer ensures better thermal protection.

The J2 baselayer system takes this performance further with tried and tested anti-microbial silver ions embedded within the fibres of the fabric. This enables long, repetitive wear without the risk of skin infections developing — something which was critical on the J2 expedition.

Anti-Microbial: Silver ions are incorporated into the fibres when they are manufactured, ensuring that the bacteriostatic and anti-fungal properties of the fabric last. This cannot be washed off. The silver ions prevent the formation of bacterial cell membranes, preventing most bacteria from growing in the fibres of the garment. However, this will not adversely affect the naturally occurring bacteria on the skin itself.

Performance When Wet: The J2 wicking performance also comes into its own when the fabric gets wet. Water is wicked away from the skin, and with the right combination of drysuit underwear, further away though the fibres of the undersuit. Even in the event of a suit flood, the J2 will retain some of its performance.

J2 — Fast Wicking Baselayer
The unique knit of the J2 fabric maximises the air next to the skin whilst providing good contact points for moisture from perspiration to be wicked away. This wicking action is a mechanical process and will last for the lifetime of the garment.

J2 Base Layer is Machine Washable
Machine wash cold. Line dry. Do not use bleach. Do not iron. Do not tumble dry. Can be dry cleaned. Avoid the use of fabric softeners.

Fourth Element Women's General Sizing Charts

Fourth Element is changing how they identify women's garment sizes. They've listened to customer feedback and believe this change will make it easier to identify the size you need and improve your experience overall.

Moving to a universal system (XS, S, M, L etc) from a number system (UK12, US10 etc) will ensure that you can find your perfect size whether you are shopping online or purchasing from our dive store.

During the transition period we will sell garments labelled with either old or new sizing. This might lead to you receiving an item labelled with a different size to your order. Don't worry! The measurements match according to the size guide and you will receive your order with the fit that you want.
