Full Manufacturer's Warranty

We are an authorised dealer for ALL of the products we sell, and ALL products purchased through Deep Blue Imports are backed by the branded manufacturer limited warranty. Warranties vary by brand and type of product, so please consult the manufacturer's website and/or user manual of the product in question for specific warranty details.

Like your car, scuba gear is backed by manufacturer's warranties. If you buy from an authorised dealer (like Deep Blue Imports), you will be notified in the event of a safety recall. The warranty is much more important with scuba gear, since you don't suck air from your steering wheel while 20 metres underwater. Every year there are several scuba products that require recall. That is why you should purchase your gear from an authorised dealer.

Remember, scuba gear is life support equipment — your life.

In general, warranties from all brands are limited to defects in materials or workmanship, only apply to personal use by the original purchaser, and exclude commercial or industrial use as well as excluding normal wear. Warranty liability is limited to the manufacturer's choice of repair to the original product, replacement with a similar or reconditioned product, or refund.

Warranty service usually requires the return to either Deep Blue Imports, the branded manufacturer's Australian distributor, or a third-party service centre used by the manufacturer's Australian distributor. If you are unable to use a pre-paid return label then you pay for warranty shipping costs back to us or them.

You have nothing to worry about if you purchase from Deep Blue Imports.

Authorised Dealer Lookup

If you are thinking about purchasing your dive gear elsewhere, be warned that you should not take the word of the dive provider as to whether or not they are authorised dealers. If they are not, your product will NOT come with a valid manufacturer's warranty. The best strategy is to look it up on the manufacturer's website, or contact the manufacturer or their Australian distributor directly and ask them.

Do You Have Parts For My Equipment?

We do stock a few generic replacement parts such as hoses and O-rings, but in general, our answer has to be "probably not" for most BC and regulator parts from the popular brands we sell like Apeks, Aqua Lung, Cressi and Mares. That also goes for the brands we don't sell like Halcyon, Oceanic, Poseidon, and ScubaPro. We know it's frustrating. Most dive equipment brands express concerns about liability or safety as their reason for prohibiting the retail sale of their branded individual replacement parts to consumers.

The good news is that we believe the consumer has the right to repair and our policy is to sell individual parts that we are allowed to for any brand we currently sell. For those brands we don't sell, our recommendation is to return the equipment directly to the manufacturer, or one of their authorised service centres for service or repair.

Will Your Generic Service Part or Tool Work With My Equipment?

Unfortunately, our answer regarding compatibility must be "we don't know". We offer our generic service parts and tools for use only by qualified repair technicians who are able to determine compatibility for themselves using our descriptions and photographs. We do not recommend a trial and error repair strategy for life support equipment. The safe practice in circumstances of uncertainty is to contact the service department at the manufacturer. We especially recommend against DIY repairs on BC devices.

We service almost any brand of scuba diving equipment and are an authorised service centre for all of the products we stock, plus many more.

All repairs are handled on a timely basis, with turn-around time usually under 2 weeks from date of receipt. We stock a complete line of replacement parts for quick returns. Please allow additional time for return shipping if necessary.

Please allow an additional 2-3 weeks for certain products that need to be returned to the manufacturer for servicing. Such as buoyancy compensators (repairs to mechanical parts can be serviced in-house), cameras, computers (user-changeable battery replacement can be done in-house), equipment bags, gauges, wetsuits and special order parts.

Please stop by or send all repairs to our facility located in Rye in southern Victoria. Make sure to fill out our Service/Repair Form before you drop off or send in your repair.
